New Jersey Film Commission to be Eliminated July 1 2008
Filming in the state of New Jersey generated $92 Million dollars in 2007, money spent to employ New Jersey residents, as well as purchase goods and services from New Jersey businesses.
Governor Corzine has eliminated funding for the New Jersey State Film Commission starting July 1st.
That means the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission will no longer exists after that date
The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission provides an invaluable service to the Production Companies, Film Studios and Advertising Agencies and Photographers worldwide who film in New Jersey, the freelance producers, location scouts and other film crew personnel who utilize The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission’s services, as well as the residents and various municipalities of the State of New Jersey, by providing a central source of information, answers to questions about filmmaking in New Jersey, and solving problems for film crews and residents.
Without funding from the state, The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission will no longer exist, and without their efforts to bring filmmaking to New Jersey and provide logistical location information, breakdown of the permit process, their photo library, State Financial Incentive Programs, Child Labor management, production resources for in-state professionals, filmmakers could take their business elsewhere, potentially costing New Jersey residents and businesses Millions of dollars a year in lost revenues…

Dear Governor Corzine, I apologize if I have to say this, how come you are doing this to your own people? we trust you when we gave our vote for you to be where you are right now. Do not please make me regret.
We need you to retrieve the assistance that our future talents need to continue with their goal, with their dreams, nobody deserve that its dreams be locked nobody. This action show the people that instead to have protection we are just taking away from us our dreams. Is not right, and our future generation that need from you from everyone support is screamed for help. Do not desapoint it us Sir. We believe in you.
